Lake Manyara National Park:
Our original plan was diverted and we were led to the Lake Manyara Hotel in this National Park. The park is only 318 sq km (123 sq miles) and is mostly the lake.
We arrived too late to view the lake. Still the hotel’s garden was fully planted with many flowering trees with many varieties of Plumeria. This was a rather romantic setting.
Clans of Olive Baboons loam around the hotel compound freely. When I (Meg) was going to take a walk in the garden there were about ten Baboons there. The hotel worker just shooed them away for me. I felt sorry for them.
They are known to open quite heavy sliding doors of hotel rooms and steal shiny things like watches or jewelry.
