Way to Hamisi:

Some of the members met at Nairobi airport and spent the first night at the Methodist Guest House in uptown Nairobi.  I had no idea where I was in Nairobi next morning when I woke up.  Right away Nancy and I went out to check out the neighborhood.  We didn’t go too far since we had to leave soon as well as trying not to get lost.  It was a Monday morning in a residential area.  Other than a few Kenyans going to work, the streets were rather quiet.

We stocked up bottles of water and some Kenyan cash and hit the road.  On the way to the Lake Elementaita, we crossed the equator and saw wild common zebras, Maasai giraffes, Italian churches, the Rift Valley and much more.  Everybody was awed with the scenery of such an exotic place.

At the restaurant in a little town where we stopped for lunch, Arthur became deliriously happy after finding samosas.  He hadn’t had them since his African days of 40 years ago.
