Golf Hotel:

The Crossroads Springs Institute is in Hamisi in Western Kenya.  Since it was difficult to stay there, Alison and Arthur chose nearby Kakamega city which is 45 minutes drive from Hamisi. The Golf Hotel was booked beforehand by Alison.  The hotel’s volunteer guests, Marabou storks, flock to the well manicured lawns.  The rate is rather high for foreigners.  Alison tried to negotiate with the manager and asked for residential rates.  Later we learned that the residents meant foreigners living in Kenya with papers but not for long-stay boarders.

Meshack Isiaho, Ruth Isiaho, Helen Isiaho and Charles Agalo came from Hamisi to meet us at the hotel. Cliff arranged for tea and sandwiches to enjoy with the "welcome" conversation.
